You may have seen Kiro at the front of many NakedHearts rides, powering along and bopping to the music. We’re delighted that he wants to lead a ride and here it is. From Naya, his Mum. “What happens when you ask a 7 year old to lead a ride? “I want a 26 mile ride with two short stops and picnic at a place with no plastic” I don’t think little guy understands what 26 miles is, so to make it reasonable, we will do 26km ride and end with a picnic. Meet at 5pm laurelhurst park and leave on time at 5.30pm. Punctual Little Man has very little patience.” Route is going to be very relaxed, lots of bike paths and greenways. The ride is definitely family and all wheels friendly, but the distance will be 26km. We’ll publish the route ahead of time so families can decide to jump on at any point and know where they can jump off or come meet us for the picnic. The ride will need lots of extra support: 1/Corkers especially needed, and especially pre-corking to help Kiro know the path is clear/safe. We want Kiro to be empowered as much possible to make choices and having a strong corker support crew is essential. 2/ Please bring your joy and calmness so make a lovely atmosphere, but also attend if you’re feeling super down because others joy will give you buoyancy. 3/ Please be super mindful of smoking in the main group as there will be children present. Cannabis is a medicine but kids don’t see the difference between it and tobacco. 4/ Picnic at the end so prepare what you need. We will have two short store stops to grab provisions. As with all our rides, we practice consent and non-violence. All wheels, All people welcome. Please come as you are.
